In 1983 Luciano Meli and Fausta Castaldi decided to buy the farmhouse and the farm where her family – the Castaldi – worked as farmers for over 60 years.
Podere Bucine has always produced an excellent wheat, a special wine and a great olive oil. The couple were certain that the purchase of the farm would be a guarantee for the future of their daughters, Lucia and Eleonora.
Unfortunately, a few years later, in 1988, Fausta died, leaving a great spiritual but also practical void in the management of the farm.
Thanks to the help of his in-laws and his uncle Bruno, Luciano manages to continue the project he had dreamed of with his wife.
His daughter Lucia decided to stay with her father to take care of the farm, for her great passion for country life.
In 2018, Loreto, the husband of Luciano’s second daughter, Eleonora, also arrived in Bucine. He falls in love with the farm, falls in love with the countryside and stays.
From 2022, Podere Bucine opens its doors to all guests who want to taste and buy wine and oil.

As part of the agricultural industry, we fully depend on our surrounding, just as it depends on us. That’s why we grow our produce organically and sustainably. Over the past decades the carbon footprint of the winery has been positive, which is something we’re really proud of.
At Podere Bucine we have been partaking in the organic cultivation of all our crops for years and we are in the process of official certification by the governing bodies.
Let us respect the earth, let us respect its fruits.
